Finished production on my film. I am leaving for LA for 8 days.

Meeting tons of people, doing the conference "Filmmaker Independant", paying my dues at SAG, the syndicate for actors and meeting consultants editors for my film, sound people, feedback session. This is going a very busy week in LA. I can t believe we made it. As the actor/writer/producer and director I took no salary and so the editor working full time for 5 months on it. Only production assistants in every country we visited were paid and our DP, Laurent Bertoni. He did a great work and came on board when I was not even sure when the investor s money was going to come. Now we have a full 3 more months of perfect editing and music to make picture exactly like we have in mind. Then we will have to "abandon" our art as Picasso would say. I have already put on papers 5 others documentaries-comedies, one in Africa and one in South America which I would like to do. I will never wait anymore as an actor and will do the opportunities myself plus directing is fun. Producing is very tough and very very time consuming when you are also the writer/actor and director but if it is the only I get the movies I want on screen so be it. I have no problems negociating prices down as I used to be in business. The good thing is since I don t have millions dollars behind me, I can t pay top price and I am forced every single day to be creative on the shoot. I spent no money for locations, ever. I don t have the budget for it so that helped. It has been a great adventure. It would have taken a year of my life. When I am back in Beijing, people want me to organize Master Class for students filmmakers that are going to be released on Chinese internet. Chinese people are so enthousiastic about ideas and projects..so different from old Europe where people hated me whenever I had more than one idea at at time. In China and America, as long as you can deliver,people welcome your curiosity and creativity and that is what is the best thing about China and USA.
